TIPO 110D.000

1963 Fiat 500 D Trasformabile
Light Ivory 214

Chassis no. 475122

Engine no. 776329

The Fiat 500 D:

The second series of the "Cinquecento" is considered by many to be the "sweet spot" of the fabled classic Fiat 500 modelrange. It boasts all the intricate details of the first series "N" cars underwhich the incredibly svelte suicide doors and in ultimate "Trasformabile" iteration, the fully folding back roof.
The D series Fiat was a much improved car altogether, with a bigger engine (from 479cc to 499cc), notable improvements with regards to build quality. Subtle but notable changes make the D series a much more approachable and useable car than the early N series. Its not too difficult finding a nicely presented F, L or R variant of the 500 stable. However D's have become increasingly difficult to find especially in Trasformabile form... Let alone in a show stopping condition as the one we're proud to be offering here.
Chassisnumber 475122:
Chassis number 475122 was originally supplied in 1963 to its native Italian market. This stunning Fiat is no stranger to us, as we've sourced it ourselves in December 2020 from the South Italian region of Naples and subsequently sold it to a Dutch custodian who has used it sparingly ever-since. Presented in the striking colour combination of Light Ivory 214 over a Rosso interior and softtop, this is probably one of the more tasteful colourcombo's we've seen on one of these in recent memory.
Benefitting from a nicely documented (imagery + invoices) nut-and-bolt restoration, this specimen leaves nothing on the table. Suffice to say body, drivetrain, suspension, interior and all ancillaries are in excellent condition - without exception. Accompanying the car is a vast history file containing an owner's manual, a later sourced original Dutch Fiat 500 type description, printed imagery of the restoration, invoices, 123 ignition documentation, Italian registration documents and all contemporary Dutch registration documents. It is notable to say the odometer has been renewed in the restoration process and currently indicates about 1500 km's.
The quality of restoration is remarkable for a car of this magnitude, let alone it being a Fiat. This is probably as close to a "brand-new" Fiat 500 D experience as it gets and it has been maintained exceptionally well post-restoration. the last service (totalling €2120,70) dates from May 2022. The Fiat is currently Dutch registered under registration number PM-12-48, suited with 4 brand new tires with integrated white-walls and comes with two complete sets of keys.
Probably one of (if not the) best 500 D Trasformabile's available anywhere. If you're looking for one of these increasingly rare beasts, don't miss this opportunity.
