The Giulia Super 1.3:
From 1971 onwards, Alfa rationalized their line-up with regards to trim level and nomenclature and introduced the Super 1.3 as a replacement to the 1300 Super. The two models were indistinguishable from oneanother, with the exception from the engine capacity and badge on the bootlid. Hereby, the Super 1.3 got the more luxurious trim level of the more expensive models with the more revvy 1290cc engine mated to a pair of twin-choke carburettors (unlike other 1300's which only got a single carb).
Easy telltales of a Super 1.3: quad headlights and a different grille layout on the outside. On the inside a different dash and instrument cluster with the bigger and more luxurious Jaeger dials can be found on the Super 1.3. The seating and door card upholstery was of greater quality and intricacy too - lifting the entire interior to a much higher level than on other 1.3-engined variants.
The Super 1.3 is regarded as the most desirable Giulia with the 1290 cc engine, thanks to the double carburettors making for a more potent driving experience and the more intricate details both on the outside as well as the inside.
Chassis "3337157":
The Super 1.3 we are thrilled to be offering here, is one of the best sorted (and specced) Giulia's in recent memory. It literally ticks all boxes. To start off with, its fully matching numbers as confirmed by its Certificato Di Origine. Besides it is presented in one of the most desirable colours available on a Giulia; Verde Pino AR 216 over a Tan leatherette upholstery - exactly as it left the factory on the 30th of January 1974 as per its Certificato Di Origine.
Initially destined for the region of Genova in the North of Italy according to records of Alfa Romeo Centro Storico, however it was registered to its first private owner on the 12th of July 1974 in Salerno, near Naples. The chain of ownership is uninterrupted for the entire 50 years of the Giulia's life thanks to the presence of the Libretto - which is simply remarkable.
Today the Giulia is presented in stunning condition throughout, thanks to restoration works in its past life as well as recent servicing works in Italy and the Netherlands prior to offering for sale. The Giulia boasts a superb, rust-free body - decorated with a plethora of original weld spots, seams, floor pressings and razor sharp shutlines throughout. The paint finish is consistent and the colour is vibrant - exactly as it should be. Technically, the Giulia is absolutely "on the button" thanks to recent technical overhaul by marque experts where the following aspects were given attention:
  • Complete gearbox overhaul incl. synchros, full clutch kit (friction, pressure and , master and slave cylinders + flexi hose as well as new seals all-round.

  • Complete overhaul of the double Solex 40 DDH carburettors incl. fresh gaskets

  • New brake master cylinder + brake fluid flush

  • General service incl. oil, filter, coolant etc.

  • Cylinder head overheal, skim and head gasket set incl new valve rubbers and a checkover

  • New water pump, cleaned inlet manifold, new carburettor rubbers and gaskets

Invoices of the parts used during these service works are present in the car's dedicated history file. We have fitted a new set of Eibach lowered springs and the ever-so desirable 15" GTA-style wheels with fresh Hankook tires. This set just elevates the stance of a classic Giulia to another level in our honest opinion and adds considerable desirability whilst maintaining comfort for longer trips.
The Giulia will be delivered as complete as a 105 Giulia can be; incl. original toolkit, original jack, spare wheel, Libretto, Certificato Di Origine, user manual and some invoices of recent servicing parts. Currently supplied with Italian documents, it can be registered in the Netherlands (on beautiful dark blue classic license plates) and will be supplied with a fresh MOT prior to handover.
