The Last Classic Mini's:

In late 1996, the last comprehensive technical change was implemented with the introduction of the multipoint injection system (in-short MPI). When you were planning on ordering your new Mini at the time, you could basically choose 2 setups; the “Mini” and the “Mini Cooper” – with the sole differentiation between the two being the trim and accessories.

For those who wanted to show-off the sporting credentials the Mini had earned over the past decades just a thatch more, there was a sports option pack available containing; 13 inch alloys, additional gauges, large body colour extended wheel arches, additional driving and/or fog lamps and a large tailpipe finisher. Sportspacks embody the quirkyness that Classic Mini's are renowned for and make them amongst the most desirable of the bunch. Great spec, rust-free examples are becoming increasingly rare.

This Classic Mini:

The car on offer here is one of those sought-after Mini’s with the uprated Multi-point-injection engine and boasting the original Sportspack, being first registered on the 26^th of June 1997. This original German specimen was consigned in svelte Anthracite over a Stone Beige leather upholstery – exactly as it is presented today. Having spent most of its life in Germany in the hands of just a handful of owners, by December 2019 the car was purchased by its last Dutch custodian and imported to the Netherlands under reg number G-204-VV.

We had the pleasure of handling the sale of this exact car in early 2023 and sold her to a German collector who has used her incredibly sparingly ever-since (hence the reason we bring her to market again). The German owner has since driven her for about 1000 problem-free km's.

Currently the Mini has covered a mere 88.5k warranted km’s from new and presents in stunning condition. The Mini benefits from some nice upgrades including a manually opening roof, believed to have been fitted very early in its life - possibly by the supplying dealer! In the course of 2022, this Mini has been the recipient of a fully-fledged documented aesthetical overhaul. The full process is documented by imagery, mainly focussed on tackling corrosion in the early stages and preserving this wonderful example for the future. Today this Mini presents in splendid condition, totally free of corrosion or any rust whatsoever – ready for a new owner to enjoy it as intended.

The Mini comes with all original documents and booklets, including the service and owner’s manual as well as the owner’s supplement. The documentation stretches all the way to this motorcar’s German roots, including the original “Fahrzeugbrief”, GTU and TÜV reports and a variety of invoices. Accompanied accessories include the original jack in its correct bag, wheel wrench and spare wheel as well as two original sets of keys with keyfobs.
