Chassis no. AR3337375
The Alfa Romeo Giulia was launched in the summer of 1962 at the Autodromo Nazionale di Monza. It was intended as a compact four-door executive car with the sporty Alfa Romeo DNA embedded within. At first is was fitted with a 1570 cc engine capacity and called 'Touring Internazionale' or shortly TI, and later the 1.3 capacity was introduced as Giulia 1300. In 1965 the Giulia Super was launched at the Geneva Motorshow, to bring the race technology of the previously launched racing car called Giulia TI Super (confusing names, we know...) which was produced in very limited numbers, to the road. This was with the 1570 cc engine capacity nevertheless. To make this technology and driving pleasure more affordable, the car was fitted with the 1.3 capacity from the Giulia 1300. The Giulia 1300 Super was born and is also known as the 115.09 series. This specific model designation was very short-lived and would go on to be the Giulia Super 1.3 (Alfa also figgered the nomenclature was somewhat confusing) in 1972. The car presented here is of the latter model designation.
This very car was originally delivered in its current color combo of wonderful Faggio (code 516) over beige. The car was originally consigned by mrs. mari lilia to the dealership of 'Sarcar s.a.s' in Sienna on the 22nd of February 1974. It is believed that the car is 3 owners from new, and has resided with it's first owner until 21st of December 2000. The car was sold to mr. Romano Resti, and stayed within the region of Sienna, more precisely to Castelnuovo Berardenga. Mr. Resti kept hold of the car until the 26th of January 2011, when the car changed owners once more. Mr. Giovanni Trevisano of Palermo would become the third owner of chassis number AR3337375, before we acquired it and exported it to the Netherlands.
During the course of it's life the car has been preserved very neatly. It is fully matching numbers and still has all it's original ancillaries and accessories. The car has seen a respray a couple of years ago and has had it's interior re-upholstered. The engine runs very smoothly, and the gearbox still shifts like butter. No sign whatsoever of creaking synchros or worn gears, this car has been maintained (and driven) properly.
This car comes with a load of original documents to support it's originality such as it's original libretto and the service book. Even the original pouch to fit all the documents that was supplied new with the car is still present. Also the original Libretto di Servizio with the corresponding warranty cards is still accompanying this very original Super 1.3.
All things considered, this is a very neatly preserved Super 1.3 with a phenomenal provenance. 'what you see is what you get' might be the best way to sum this gem up.
As with all cars sold by us, the car can be viewed and technically approved from all angles in our workshop and possibly taken for a test drive.
