The XK8:
Launched in 1996 as a replacement for the XJS, the XK8 was received very well amongst enthusiasts as it ticked all boxes a proper "Jag" should tick. Available as coupé and convertible, with a 4.0 litre naturally aspirated V8, which would later also be available as 4.2 litre. Internally coded as "X100", the engine of choice was the brand new in-house designed 32 valve AJ-8, which would be the fourth different engine designed by Jaguar to date. As design for the engine and car started well before the purchasing of Ford in 1997 - this is often seen as the last true "Jag" without a parent company looking over the shoulder.
Great examples of the XK8 with relative low mileages in properly sorted condition are increasingly hard to come by (harder than you might think!). We are therefore pleased to offer this example, which would be a great buy for someone.
This XK8 Convertible:
The car on offer here is Dutch registered under 86-JRJ-9 and was first registered on the 13th of March 2000. Specified in Sapphire Blue over a Charcoal full leather interior with 18 inch wheels. Originally, the Jag was believed to be registered in Belgium and found its way to the Netherlands via then Maastricht-based dealer Demandt to a female owner on the 31st of August 2009. She would regularly service the car at the supplying dealer as is substantiated by numerous invoices.
Come 2014, the car would be purchased by its current custodian, a proper Jaguar enthusiast and senior family member of yours truly.
The car would continue to be serviced by the same dealer with all invoices present in the history file. The most notable service was conducted on August 2023 by marque experts G&G Autoservice at the expense of €4.082,12 incl VAT. The following items were addressed during this service:
  • Chain tensioner modification €2.450,- ex VAT

  • Polyutherene bushes €450,- ex VAT

  • Ball joints L+R €240,- ex VAT

  • Oil + filter + air filter €232,- ex VAT

  • Wheel alignment

After this service, the XK8 has been driven for about 500 km's in total. Due to the current custodian coming of age, the difficult decision has now been taken to let go of his pride and joy and pass her onto somebody else. All accessories and electrics are fully functioning and the car presents very neatly both inside & out with only some minor signs of use (as to be expected after 24 years). This is not a concours queen - and is not priced as such! The original booklets incl. user manual and service manual are still present as well as a full history file containing numerous invoices, MOT certificates and more. The The last MOT is from June 2024, the four Hankook tires still have plenty of life in them too and this Jaguar is raedy to rumble at a new staple!
Bite-size:
A great buy for someone who is looking for one of these timeless classics, complete with all accessories, documentation and immaculate service history.
