The Flavia 2000 Coupe:The Lancia Flavia was Lancia’s top-of-the-range executive offering from its initial launch back in 1961. From 1971 onwards, Lancia updated the Flavia and rebranded it simply as “2000” further reminiscing its enlarged engine capacity, in conjunction with other notable improvements. Initially available as saloon (designed in-house), the convertible and coupe versions were styled by Pininfarina alongside some special iterations from the likes of Zagato and Vignale. The Flavia 2000 is considered as the swansong of an independent Lancia, before it was acquired by Fiat who clearly opted for more profitable offerings at the cost of the overall quality and refinement that Lancia was so incensed about. With just 1399 examples ever produced, the 2000 Coupe is an epitome of Italian styling at its finest hour, taking (suspiciously various) styling cues from the likes of a Ferrari 330 GT 2+2 or 250 GTE – to name but a few. Seating for four, sophisticated technology, the finest of materials, an utter attention to detail and the most sweeping Italian curves – the Flavia 2000 Coupe is one for the genuine connoisseur! This Flavia 2000 Coupe:Chassis number 820430001411 was newly consigned to Mr. J. G. Cezare of Roma and registered on the 4th of March 1972. It is believed the car was newly supplied in Bianco (LAN 220) over a blue cloth interior – the colour scheme it is presented in today. The car was subsequently sold by Mr. Cezare to the previous owner on the 29th of September 1977 – who clearly enjoyed it, as he would go on to own it for the next 43 years! The car is presented in exceptional condition today, as some years ago it has been repainted and reupholstered in the correct shades. The car was originally supplied as fuel – injected specification, but has been upgraded to the correct Solex carburettor spec for improved drivability and above all reliability. This upgrade has been done very sympathetically as it is identical to the carburettor spec equivalent. The body of the car is extremely sound throughout and shows no signs of rust by any means. The underside of the car is just as truthful, all the correct spot welds and pressings are still in place. The drivetrain is very smooth, with the engine pulling very nicely indeed and the gearbox being equally as slick. Recently has the fuel pump been replaced as a precautious measure, as the old one was so-so. All the ancillaries including the period cutting edge power-assisted brakes and steering rack are fully functioning - little need to say that this is a no-stories motorcar throughout. The car is excellently documented, with MOT stamps dating back to the 80’s. The original owner’s manual as well as the dealer pouch are present – accompanying a wonderful history file. Very rarely are Flavia 2000 Coupe’s offered in such condition – let alone with such provenance. Summer motoring in a dazzling example of the elegant Flavia 2000 Coupe awaits – La dolce Vita!Price: €20.950,-Interested in this motorcar?
