Coachwork by Bertone

“The 1300 GT is a sportscar for high speed motoring. Motoring that gives you all the famous Alfa features – plus. You get surprisingly low running costs from the small engine. And you get the same advanced technical improvements that have made the 1750 such a successful car.”
-Alfa Romeo About its newly launched GT 1300 Junior in the models’ brochure

The GT 1300 Junior:
By the mid 1960’s, Alfa was in its heyday with the offering of the 105/115 series. Designed by (the then 17 year-old) Giorgetto Giugiaro the Gran Turismo (in-short GT) iteration of the 105 series is widely regarded as Alfa’s finest hour with regards to its illustrious history of road cars. It boasted onto the scene in 1963 in its inaugural form, containing numerous revolutionary technicalities; a 5-speed gearbox and 4-wheel disc brakes to name but a few.
These GT’s just tick so many boxes as an eminently usable and enjoyable classic motorcar; timeless design wrapped around technically advanced ingenuity for utmost driving pleasure in an unparalleled wide variety of circumstances. Due to the comparatively high attrition rate over the years due to its sensibility to corrosion, unmolested specimen in genuinely great condition are highly sought-after by enthusiasts.
Its fair to say the most desirable cars are the ones with great original specifications (and seldom-seen sought-after colours!) – just like the one we’re offering here…
This GT 1300 Junior:
The GT on offer here is chassis no. AR1285254 is one of 5976 cars produced in 1973 and was consigned in the breath-taking colour combination of Azzuro Le Mans AR348 over a Brown leatherette upholstery.
Originally delivered to its domestic market in Italy, it is strongly believed chassis AR1285254 stayed in Italy throughout its entire life. Some years ago the car underwent a sympathetic restoration, where the body, paint finish and interior was brought back to the high standards it is presented with today in its original shade of Azzuro Le Mans AR348 and the correct upholstery materials.
Today the GT presents in simply splendid form (both technically as well as aesthetically), with a believed to be original 44k km’s on the odometer. However, before offering it for sale we undertook some serious recommissioning works as the GT had not been used for quite some time. All works have been carefully documented either by imagery or by invoices. The most notable works that have been carried out by Alfa specialist LTC Racing in October – November 2021 totalling around €4000,-:
  • New clutch set (friction plate, Pressure plate & release bearing)
  • New clutch slave cylinder + connecting hose
  • New fuel tank
  • New exhaust piece + gasket (middle)
  • New fluids (including waterless coolant)
  • Instalment of performance air filter
  • Full carburettor rebuilt incl. tune-up and ignition reset
  • Camshafts set “on point”
  • Compression-test and general engine check-over. LTC Racing confirms the engine is strongly believed to have never been fully overhauled and that the 44k km’s is the cars’ original mileage.
The car is accompanied by all original accessories including the owners manual and the original jack. It goes without saying that this GT is as ready as it can be for a new custodian to enjoy it for many years to come. The engine pulls a treat, the gearbox is butter smooth with no crunching synchro’s by any means. The body of the car presents in great form as well with all body- and shut lines aligning correctly and consistently. It is evident this motorcar has never seen any accidents and presents truthfully.
Bite-Size:
A GT like very few others out there. Presented in simply superb condition in an utterly desirable (and rare!) specification. Fresh from recent recommissioning works and thoroughly checked-over by marque experts, if you’ve had your eyes peeled on one of these and were waiting for the right car to cross your path – the wait is now over!
Price: €35.950,-
